I have read and seen this story before It is so clich d that it probably had got to the point where you couldn t even parody it This is just a worse version of the House of Wax story than you would expect to find elsewhere. The main family are not likeable They are judgemental and bland The main character is also vain, arrogant and proud There is no comeuppance for him here which makes himinsufferable His mother is mostly there to hold his sister who is generic as generic can be I have read and seen this story before It is so clich d that it probably had got to the point where you couldn t even parody it This is just a worse version of the House of Wax story than you would expect to find elsewhere. The main family are not likeable They are judgemental and bland The main character is also vain, arrogant and proud There is no comeuppance for him here which makes himinsufferable His mother is mostly there to hold his sister who is generic as generic can be The father is a skinflint The plot isn t great either It is trying to make a point about the dark side of humanity but labouring that point The set pieces pun acknowledged don t bring any tension into the novel and the side characters are not given hardly any personality I didn t enjoy reading this That doesn t mean others won t To me it was horrible where it aimed for horrific
