I picked this up through one of those 2 credits on select books if you subscribe to somelist and didn t expect much from it I am so glad I picked it up It is a different take on the romance genre, at least for me someone who doesn t typically read romance It is well written and feels authentic, though it s not a depiction of a dating culture I m familar with This is a light, warm, beach read for a bright little pick me up, which is exactly what I was looking for Koogi and Keenan I picked this up through one of those 2 credits on select books if you subscribe to somelist and didn t expect much from it I am so glad I picked it up It is a different take on the romance genre, at least for me someone who doesn t typically read romance It is well written and feels authentic, though it s not a depiction of a dating culture I m familar with This is a light, warm, beach read for a bright little pick me up, which is exactly what I was looking for Koogi and Keenan are weird in a way I understand and passionate in a way I admire There is so much beauty in these characters and their story, it captivated me until the end I think their love story is one I will remember for quite awhile

This books is beautiful beyond words In its joy, but also in its heartache Who hasn t known what it s like to waiver between dream and reality Love and duty Desire and responsibility These characters walk a tightrope full of universal questions It is all too easy to relate as we take the loving, and sometimes painful, journey with them Life isn t as simple as finding your soulmate It rests precariously on the choices that either move you closer to that future together, or keep you apart This books is beautiful beyond words In its joy, but also in its heartache Who hasn t known what it s like to waiver between dream and reality Love and duty Desire and responsibility These characters walk a tightrope full of universal questions It is all too easy to relate as we take the loving, and sometimes painful, journey with them Life isn t as simple as finding your soulmate It rests precariously on the choices that either move you closer to that future together, or keep you apart for whatever well intended reasons This book will resonate with all the dreamers out there which I hope is all of us

Truly one of the most painful things I ve read in awhile Four hundred pages of characters being stupid, and self sacrificing in the name of LOVE Uh, sorry folks, that s not love You don t marry someone because you don t want to break their heart Kugy, a girl who the author loves to repeatedly tell us is brave, and quirky, and doesn t care what anyone thinks, apparently cares A LOT what other people think, to the point where she does a ridiculous amount of hiding Least brave heroine ever Truly one of the most painful things I ve read in awhile Four hundred pages of characters being stupid, and self sacrificing in the name of LOVE Uh, sorry folks, that s not love You don t marry someone because you don t want to break their heart Kugy, a girl who the author loves to repeatedly tell us is brave, and quirky, and doesn t care what anyone thinks, apparently cares A LOT what other people think, to the point where she does a ridiculous amount of hiding Least brave heroine ever Keenan is a joke Plenty of girls like him, and rather than saying, No thanks, you re not really my type, he just goes along with them, acting like a boyfriend when he clearly has no interest in them And then, out of guilt, he forces an interest in them Poor Ludhe I know this books first language isn t English, so perhaps some things got lost in translation, but there s a lot of of odd phrasing here Characters laugh at what feels like inappropriate times Jokes and dialogue fall flat And towards the middle, practically every chapter ended with either Keenan or Kugy proclaiming that they d moved on , putting the other behind them Except, they never did Hence the melodrama If this book has been two hundred pages shorter, the story may have been interesting, but the other half was filled with unnecessary drama that really added nothing, other than a desire to tear my own hair out I definitely won t be picking this book up again

This book feels like something I would have written in high school in that every character speaks in the same affected quirky way, and in that it s fucking awful I wanted to read something light and fluffy while getting my hair done today, but my goodness, this was an insult to my intelligence DNF d at 30%.
